Smoke Points of Oils

There are several different oils that can be used in cooking, 
but what oil is used for what?

We all learn to cook with butter or vegetable oil but did you 
know that specific oils are used for specific things?  
For example, olive oil is used most times when cooking 
Italian food but even then, you have extra-virgin, 
light, and regular olive oils.

Listed below are the most common oils that are used 
and their smoke point.  What is a smoke point?  
The smoke point is the temperature where the oil 
will start to smoke or burn.  If you oil burns, it will 
create an after taste that is not too pleasant 
so depending on how you are cooking something, you should 
choose an appropriate oil to start with.
